Sitting on Etruscan foundations, the site dates back some 2.500 years ago, and worked his historical past through the Roman Empire, the middle ages, becoming firstly a monastery along the Via Francigena housing and sheltering the pilgrims going and coming to-from Rome. During the 1800 was rebuilt as a hunting villa from a notable family of Siena (the oval garden was the hunting field) and at the turn of the 1800 became the central piece of a large farming estate, counting over 20 farmhouses. It followed a decline period between the 50s and the 80s, and in the meantime being used as a school for the children of Radicofani.
In the late 80s the villa was refurbished and transformed into the first country house of the southern part of Siena, beginning to host people from the world over to share the beauty of this sweet valley "VAL D'ORCIA" becoming a moment of life for whover stayed at La Palazzina - even one day stay is a precious moment in life.
